Call for Abstracts

The Call for Abstracts is now CLOSED

The Organising Committee is seeking expressions of interest form potential speakers who wish to contribute to this important debate. Abstracts for presentations fitting one of the following themes will be especially welcome:

The conference outline can be downloaded from the homepage.

Please note that a key objective of this event is to stimulate debate, and help inform key decision makers within the International community about real-world issues and user requirements for digital hydrographic data. Consequently, the conference will open with an introduction from the IHO, and there will be a number of open floor stakeholder forums enabling delegates both to respond to issues raised in the papers sessions and to engage in the wider debate.

Abstracts must be received by the end of July 2013, and will be reviewed by the Organising Committee supported by IFHS and IHO representatives. Papers will then be selected based on relevance to the conference theme, originality and quality. Successful authors will be notified by mid-August. Until the programme is confirmed all potential authors must ensure that they are available on both conference days (29th and 30th October 2013).

Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words in length. Successful authors will be asked to submit their full papers three weeks before the event to enable them to be included in Conference Proceedings. Authors should note that THS UK will require them to grant joint copyright of both their paper and presentation to the Society on behalf of the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS).

Successful authors will be offered free registration at the conference in October, although THS UK will not be able to cover the cost of travel, accommodation and subsistence.

Please contact the Organising Committee at digitalhydro@ths.org.uk.
